Infectious Disease Research, Gram Negative Antibodies Apply for Position #2069

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Work within
infectious disease research to design, develop, and execute in vitro and/or in
vivo studies, to characterize biologic therapies directed against gram-negative
bacterial pathogens, primarily Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
Qualifications:
• Education: PhD with 1-4 year or M.S. with 4 - 8 years
post degree experience in microbiology, or related discipline, with a minimum
of 1 – 3 yrs of strong Pharma/BioPharma Infectious Disease experience.
• Laboratory
experience in animal model development and evaluation of therapeutics
preferred.
• Requires
expertise in the design and implementation of
in vitro (opsonophagocytosis,
direct killing, etc.) and in vivo
(survival, bacteremia, organ burder, focal infection, etc.) studies to assess
the anti-bacterial potential of biologics (primarily antibodies).
• Experience
with relevant antibody-based techniques (e.g., FACS, cell-based ELISAs,
opsonophagocytosis) and mechanisms of host innate immunity preferred. This
individual must be dedicated to maintaining high laboratory standards with
regard to quality and safety, and must possess good organization, record
keeping and communication skills.
